At Missouri City Landfill, keeping our community and our workers safe is the most important thing we do.

Protects Groundwater: Missouri City Landfill monitors the groundwater by sampling 84 groundwater monitoring points regularly.
Protects the Air: Our on-site landfill gas technician routinely monitors the 23 landfill gas extraction wells and associated monitoring probes to evaluate the landfill gas system performance.
Inspected Regularly: A certified third-party conducts weekly inspections of the groundwater collection system and above-ground storage tanks, and quarterly inspections of the groundwater monitoring wells and post-closure plan compliance. In addition, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources performs periodic inspections of the facility.
